When creating an allocation model in inStream, the underlying returns will use Morningstar index data to calculate the portfolio return.
If you do not want to use the Morningstar index data, inStream provides you 2 ways to customize your allocation model return.
1. You can customize the portfolio return and standard deviation for your portfolio at the plan level. This option is ideal for quickly applying your own capital market assumptions at the portfolio level, and allows you to easily view the impact of different return scenarios on your plan. If you have an allocation model that you want to use across many of your plans, you can also edit the portfolio returns by going to Settings and selecting the allocation model you want to customize. For more details, click here.
2. Using the Custom Asset Class feature, you can apply your firm’s capital market assumptions at the asset class level. This feature allows you ultimate control and allows you to create allocation model returns that reflect your firm’s market philosophy and outlook. For more details, click here.
